Summer is winding down, and back-to-school time is approaching. But before the school year starts, we like to prepare by completing house projects and end-of-summer home maintenance.
To start your year off right, here are a few projects to tackle:

1. Clean out the garage

Having a well-organized, clean garage to start the year off will keep you from stressing out when book bags and sports equipment start to creep in. Put all of your summer equipment into storage and declutter your garage. For more ideas check out this HGTV article on tips and tricks for cleaning your garage. You'll thank yourself later.

2. Consider gutter covers

If you want to avoid cleaning your gutters multiple times in the fall, consider gutter covers. Spruce.com has created a list of the best gutter covers in 2022. Click the link to read more: https://www.thespruce.com/best-gutter-guards-5089777

3. Store and weatherproof outdoor furniture

Wipe down and cover your outdoor furniture to protect them from debris and colder weather. It's sad, but it's time!

4. Cover outdoor faucets

Check any outdoor faucets or pipes and cover them with the proper insulation to keep them from freezing. Lowes has several options from covers to bags. https://www.lowes.com/pl/Outdoor-faucet-covers-freeze-caps-Garden-hoses-accessories-Lawn-garden/4294612481

5. Clean the lawn mower

Although your lawn mowing days aren't over just yet, the end of summer is the perfect time to clean your mower. Remove any clumps of grass and check the gas tank and blades.

Let us know if you do any of these end-of-summer home maintenance ideas! We'd love to hear from you!
